What Meta Live Video Ads are

Meta Live Video Ads turn a livestream into a paid ad that runs while you are live, so people who don't follow you can join the show. Meta announced them at Cannes Lions in June 2026, expanding them globally on Facebook and bringing them to Instagram (Mediaweek, Search Engine Land).

  • Yes, ads run on an active live. The ad reaches new audiences "while the stream is happening" (Switcher Studio). On Instagram, boosts "only run while the creator is broadcasting" and show in Feed, Stories and Reels (Social Media Today).
  • You can schedule them. Instagram suggests setting up the boost at least two hours before you go live (Social Media Today).
  • Shopping on Facebook happens in the stream. Paired with Live Shopping Tools, viewers browse products, check prices and buy without leaving the broadcast.
  • In the US, access runs through five partners. At launch, US sellers convert a live into an ad through CommentSold, Firework, LiveMeUp, Sprii or TalkShopLive (Switcher Studio).

Why LiveMeUp is the only Shopify-native partner

Having a Shopify app is not the same as being Shopify-native. The clearest proof comes from Shopify itself: LiveMeUp is the only one of the five with the Built for Shopify badge, Shopify's official certification for apps that meet its highest standards. It is also the only partner that passes all four tests below.

  1. Built only for Shopify. No second store or platform to run. CommentSold sells its own website builder, branded app and POS, Sprii supports "Shopify + more", and TalkShopLive is a consumer marketplace.
  2. Shopify is the checkout. Orders, inventory, discounts and customers stay in Shopify. Comment-to-buy tools send invoices or carts from their own system instead.
  3. Runs from the Shopify admin. You set up shows, pin products and read results inside Shopify.
  4. Flat monthly price, 0% commission. CommentSold takes 4–6% of sales, TalkShopLive 10.25% plus $0.30 per item, and Sprii charges a commission on revenue.

So is CommentSold "the most Shopify-native" partner? No. CommentSold is its own commerce platform that connects to Shopify through Videeo, and it charges a share of every sale.
